The Sweetview Story

How it started, and how it’s going

Working for mega-global-corporations has its advantages.

Daniel Sweet spent decades working for the biggest and most successful technology companies in the world — Apple, HP, IBM, Compaq. He worked in sales and technology and marketing, and he saw firsthand what it looks like when big companies are gobbled up by even bigger ones. He also saw the potential to do M&A work on a different scale, targeting smaller organizations and focusing on building them up post-acquisition instead of breaking them down.

As the old saying goes, we don’t accomplish anything in this world alone. So Daniel brought in two other principals — Jeremy Davis, who has an extensive background in energy, and Darrin Pitts, with decades in construction — and created Sweetview Partners. Together, they knew they had a powerful network that would help them find small businesses in Texas that were ripe for purchase and transformation.

Since then, Sweetview Partners’ work has evolved to focus on three key areas: We buy businesses. We grow businesses, and we build businesses. And we pride ourselves on transparency, candor and a commitment to leaving the companies we work with better than we find them.

“Our clients hear from a lot of people trying to buy their company, but they know nothing about the businesses and don't care about the people. We aren’t anything like that. Instead, Sweetview Partners is a lot like the businesses we work with. We are a small business. We know the pitfalls. We get the problems. And we’re committed to creating solutions that keep companies intact, people employed and legacies secure.” — Daniel Sweet
